Musculoskeletal, Pain, and Spinal Cord Injury Case Studies
Each stage of the case is presented sequentially, just as you might uncover clinically relevant information in a diagnostic protocol. You may take as much time as you wish to read each successive section, consider the information presented, and answer the questions. The diagnostic impression, discussion, and references are included with all cases.
Each Case Study is designated for 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Creditâ„¢ and fulfills the requirement for Part II of Maintenance of Certification (MOC) set forth by the American Board of PM&R (Lifelong Learning and Self Assessment).

Musculoskeletal Case Studies
The AAPM&R Musculoskeletal Case Study Series is a programmed learning series of case studies in musculoskeletal medicine for physiatrists, residents in physiatry, and other physicians.
After completing this educational activity, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate how to obtain an accurate history for patients presenting with musculoskeletal complaints.
- Identify appropriate physical examination techniques to use with patients presenting with musculoskeletal complaints.
- Describe appropriate diagnostic studies to use in patients with various musculoskeletal disorders.
- Discuss the treatment options for patients with musculoskeletal disorders.

The AAPM&R Pain Case Study Series is a programmed learning series of case studies in pain medicine for physiatrists, residents in physiatry, and other physicians.
After completing this educational activity, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate how to obtain an accurate history for patients presenting with pain complaints.
- Identify appropriate physical examination techniques to use with patients presenting with pain complaints.
- Describe appropriate diagnostic studies to use in patients with various pain disorders.

Call For Case Studies
The Academy is asking for submission of case studies in electrodiagnosis, musculoskeletal medicine, pain, spinal cord injury, or stroke for the online Case Study Program. Cases that are accepted give members an excellent opportunity to share relevant information within the field of PM&R and to list authorship credit in their curriculum vitaes.
